MRS. HENRY
We Are A Rock N Roll Band

“Play like it’s your last show.” For most indie bands back in 2020, that was the reality when the world shut down from a global pandemic, but for Mrs. Henry, salvation came by way of analog tape and a year in the studio recording a rock opera. Recently featured on Sirius XM’s The Writer’s Block, by Senior Editor of Rolling Stone Magazine David Fricke, their 38 song concept album Keep On Rising has become a mantra on stages ever since.
A band recording a year in the studio is unheard of today - Metallica or Queen couldn’t pull that off in the 21st Century. But when an unknown band has their first show back in 2021 covered by Playboy Mexico, to recording new material with The Eagle’s Hall of Fame songwriter Jack Tempchin by Christmas, you can only guess the next step would be supporting Latin American Ska legends Inspector and Panteón Rococó at Morelos Beerfest followed by the creation of a tribute band endorsed by the late Robbie Robertson. They even snagged an award for Best Rock Artist and Best Rock Album at the 2022 San Diego Music Awards for sneaking a peek of their aforementioned rock opera opus.
Keep On Rising
a 21st century rock opera by
MRS. HENRY
It has been called a “masterpiece” by some, most recently The Americana Music Society and you better believe they’ll be pursuing a Grammy for Best Recording Package - The 3 LP, 2 Disc CD, and 100 Page book comes in a collector’s set that Uk’s Shindig Magazine calls “the deluxe bells-and-whistles edition housed in the kind of sturdy box (illustrated by legendary poster artist Alan Forbes) usually reserved for massively expanded editions of rock classics – company in which Mrs Henry clearly have their sights set.”
“Not only is Keep on Rising a distinguished statement of boldness on the part of the San Diego quintet, it is also an impeccably executed one”
“From the opening notes, the album bursts forth like “a bat out of hell,” delivering a sonic experience that rivals the most exhilarating live rock shows.”
“an ambitious rock opera that solidifies the band’s position among the great rock storytellers.”
“It rocks, or more precisely, it rawks,”
“One of the most epic and bombastic rock albums of 2024”
“Ushering us into a new generation of rock n roll”
“a masterclass in maintaining momentum and engagement. Mrs. Henry expertly blend genres and influences, from the blazing guitars and pounding beats to the swirling organs and fiery vocals.”
Formed in 2012 by songwriter, guitarist and singer Daniel Cervantes, and referred to as “A group of equals” by It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine, the core line up features the virtuoso mainstays of bassist and singer Blake Dean, and singer and keyboardist Jody Bagley. Much of the group’s inception has been a flash of shows, records, and runs up the West Coast in between international jets as touring members of the indie chitlin circuit regulars Howlin Rain, The Silent Comedy, and The Schizophonics. 2020 changed that, when the group made the decision to focus their efforts on their own band, writing and recording their own original music, and staking it all on an album that defines themselves and their trademark wall of sound with Keep On Rising.
Since then it’s been on the road touring as support in North America. In 2024 they were featured in Relix magazine’s Artists You Should Know About, highlighting their first tour post-pandemic in 2023 opening for Chest Fever, prior to a sold out night at Toronto’s Massey Hall performing their original song “Find A Circle” alongside Albert Lee, Scarlet Rivera, Colin Linden, and Sylvia Tyson, for the 45th Anniversary release of The Last Waltz with a cast of thousands including the who’s who of up-and-coming Canadian rock royalty. They even managed to squeeze in a collaboration with the 60’s trailblazing icon Don Stevenson of San Francisco’s Moby Grape, and captured an incredible live album and concert film mid-strut that showcases the group’s newest line up in Powell River, British Columbia. Rock N Roll Band LIVE will be out in 2025 and showcases 60 minutes of Mrs. Henry in full throttle - it’s got the pedal to the metal sound of Kiss arena rock meets Meatloaf theatrics, with tons of crunchy Dead jams and loose Zeppelin high flying that will give you hope that rock n roll can still save your soul. It’s alive and breathing and seeing is believing.
